With a rising global fascination for China and Chinese language in recent years, it has become a new choice for young people of other countries to apply for Chinese universities. In recent years, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Renmin University of China have launched the pre-college entrance examination for international students, which is usually known as “college entrance examination for international students”. This examination is held in April to June each year. Chinese language is one of the compulsory subjects with a high score requirement. With rich teaching experience in this field, Chinese language teachers at Beijing Qinghshan Institute analyzed the gist of the examination and wrote this book based on the college entrance examination outline and questions in the past examinations for international students. This book helps students go over, explains and practices the basic knowledge with the self-assessment exercise and answer keys in each chapter. The college entrance examination outline for international students of Peking University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University is attached at the back of this book. Beijing Language and Cultural University Press, the leading publishing house in the field of TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language), published this book in September of 2005. This is the first tutorial textbook for international students studying Chinese language for college entrance examination in China.
